Room Gains tab

Contains controls used to view simulated heat gains and losses for rooms in the project building.

Tip: You can open the Results Viewer utility to step through the calculations for displayed results by selecting the result value and clicking for more information (as prompted).
SettingDescription
Room: [room name] Located in the left panel of the Room Gains tab, Rooms can be selected to display their Heat Gains and Losses on a table in the data display panel on the right side of the Room Gains tab.
Month Displays the twelve months of the year. Room gains are then displayed for each month regardless of the simulation time period length.
Infiltration heat gain Displays simulated values for heat gains resulting from infiltration. Infiltration heat gain results from the unintended flow of warm air from the outdoor environment directly into the room. Infiltration is generally caused by the opening and closing of exterior doors, cracks around windows, and even in very small amounts through building elements.
Infiltration heat loss Displays simulated values for heat losses resulting from infiltration. Infiltration heat losses results from the unintended flow of cold air from the outdoor environment directly into the room. Infiltration is generally caused by the opening and closing of exterior doors, cracks around windows, and even in very small amounts through building elements.
Latent heat gain Displays the total simulated value of Latent heat gain in the room. Latent gain components include gains from people, convection or equipment.
Latent heat loss Displays the total simulated value of Latent heat loss in the room. Latent loss components include losses from people, convection or equipment.
